Day 2 Blog Challenge: A Picture of Something You Cannot Live Without

This classy picture was compliments of my bff Kathy. Im sure my bat feels used and abused at this point...this is NOT what a bat and balls is supposed to be used for!! BWUAHAHAHA!

The picture says it all, I cannot live without softball. Well technically I can but it'd be pretty damn hard. I grew up around the sport since I was little, always at my mom's co-ed games watching her put in work and I LOVED IT! It was like a treat to be able to go to her games. Im surprised she never started me earlier in softball. I started when I was 12 for North Torrance Girls Softball where Jordyn plays now. I only played one season, my mom got into it with the coach and then I didnt play again until my Junior Year in High School. After Junior Year I didnt play again until right after I graduated when I was 18yrs old. At that time I played for Gardena Rec with some friends and we seriously looked like a chola team for reals, me never looking Samoan, I totally blended in with our moussed out hair..lol. Im gonna have to scan a picture, we were called the Brats...OH HELL NO! ha ha ha. After 18 years old at Gardena Rec I didnt play again until I was 25 for church and my mom's company team. Havent stopped playin ever since. Phew!

I honestly love softball soo much and enjoy watching others play as well. I just wish my mom would have put me into the sport at a younger age and then kept me in it so I could be a beast on the field lmao! I have good days and bad days on the field but nonetheless I'll never stop playing. I would have loved to have done it every year at a younger age so that maybe I could go to college playing ball, but alas, it is just a dream of something that never will be. I encourage my daughter Jordyn to be her very best on the field so that maybe I will be sitting sidelines watching her play in the Women's College World Series or the World Cup of Softball if she continues to stick with it *fingers crossed*. Anyhoo, I feel like a rambling fool going on and on about how much I love softball, Im sure its quite apparent being that I have no life off of the field and all of my FB status updates seem to be about a practice or a game..lol.

So there you have it, I cannot live without softball, but Im sure it could live without me..juss sayin..lol

I follow this one particular girl that I found on YouTube as a makeup guru and LOVE her blog. She started this 30 Day Blog Challenge and it seems like it'd be pretty cool for me to start as well, so here it goes! I do encourage you guys to do it also. 15 Interesting Facts About Me

1. I am double jointed, which means it is hard for me to make my fingers stay straight because they pop down at the joints and now I just realized I made my unique ability seem grotesquely not so cool..lol

2. I danced hula for about 11 years

3. I used to make YouTube videos for makeup

4. Im sad that my mother no longer makes me Easter baskets after I had Jordyn - BOOOO!

5. I am my grandparents' 5th child - figuratively speaking of course

6. I am part of a line of 1st's (my mother is the 1st child, who had me, the 1st grandchild, who then had Jordyn, the 1st great-grandchild)

7. I love the smell of rubbing alcohol

8. I used to want to be a hip hop dancer as my profession when I was in Jr High and made up dance routines with my friends in my driveway lol.

Another fun filled weekend of us at Disneyland and California Adventure on Saturday 9/4 and Monday 9/6. Im telling ya, we WILL get the most out of our annual passes..lol

Knotts and Disney all in one weekend! PHEW!

Yes, you heard correctly! This past weekend was exhausting to say the least. I mean we had the absolute best time but also the most tiring. I guess our minds worked faster than our bodies because thinking we could walk ALL DAY and stand ALL DAY, 2 days in a row and be cool...was poppy cock! Cant wait to do it again this weekend, and yes, you heard me correctly again. We are going to Disneyland and California Adventure this weekend and I will regret it on Tuesday when Im at work lol.

I swear my mom was like a kid in a candy store! I love seeing her soo happy and believe you me, if you know this woman, seeing her happy is a rare occasion, so rare I can count on 1 hand how many times Ive seen her happy. This woman works her ass off at 2 jobs back to back Monday through Friday and does for everyone else and rarely for herself. Selfless is what they call it and she is exactly that. She might not be the nicest person to be around most of the time but her heart is made of gold and her intentions are good. It was our first time at California Adventure on Sunday and man, that place is AWESOME!

Bruce, mom, Kat, Jo, and I went to Knotts on Saturday to utilize 2 free tickets Jordyn won from school for her amazing fundraising efforts. On Sunday, mom, Jo, and I went to Disney's California Adventure after being invited by the Fitisemanu's to join them on a fun day at the park. Dude, ish was AMAZING! We had the best time and its super sweet that all of us have annual passes and can go whenever and we definitely will do that!

Need I say anything at this point? Carne Asada Fries and YES they were ON POINT!

Why YES, I did wear those Minnie ears all day! A great day with the Fitisemanu's

Waiting in line for Grizzly River Run, this ride knocks Bigfoot Rapids and Roaring Rapids out of the water! We just had to get soaked since it was a bajillion degrees. I was the only one in jeans, no surprise there and yeah, jeans that are a little too big to begin with on me and then add some water to soak the back, PERRRRFECT mix! I look fabulous!

Selase, Mom, Jo, and Kaipo on Mali Boomers. I dont know what was up with those cough shields but can you imagine if someone got sick and threw up?? *GAG*

Yup you guessed correctly, that IS a huge Mickey Head Sourdough loaf!

Inside Twilight's Tower of Terror and let me tell you, if you havent gone on this ride...DO IT and when I say DO IT I mean DOOOOOOOOOO ITTTTT NOW! It is my ultimate favorite ride. You basically sit in an elevator and drop a million stories and then shoot back up, then drop some more. All you have is a seatbelt strap over your lap and at the first drop I was totally out of my seat, totally mid air with nothing to hold on to but my damn belt because at this point I didnt realize there were small handle bars on the sides of your hips *DUH* and so Im grabbing onto the seatbelt for dear life hoping that my weight doesnt snap it off mid air and I die (i know, great thought huh) but at the same time Im totally LOVING IT! My poor mom sat on the side near the aisle and she didnt have a handle bar on the left side so we would have had to share the one of her left, my right and I eventually figured it out and I grabbed it so she was totally in the air and after the fact I feel bad about it but it was our first time so who knew right? ha ha ha overall we all LOVE that ride and I can ride that all day. The line on the other hand..PFFFT horrible!

Taking a tour through the Mission Tortilla Factory and we got our free corn tortilla..JEAHHHHH!

If you now my best friend Kat you'll know that she loves photography and actually started out working at Picture People in the mall for many years. Anyhoo, to make a long story short Ive always encouraged her to start up her photography because she's good at it and its something she loves to do, so why not right? Her other goal was starting up her own A La Carte restaurant but since becoming a photographer is more realistic financially right now, I obviously pushed her to pursue that. So while she is saving for the camera of her dreams she had borrowed a mutual friends camera and decided to have a mini photoshoot with Jordyn. Lighting wasnt all that great but the pictures are pretty good for a first attempt outside of a studio. Here are my favs -

She finally is coming home!

I have been counting down the days until my angel face comes home, its been about 2 months! 2 MONTHS!!!!! The longest Ive ever been away from her in her 10yrs of her blessing my life. She has been with her dad in Temecula which isnt too far away but with a $100 gas tank, its pretty far.

Its funny because everyone assumes that Id be excited to have "me" time while she is away but its quite the opposite. I have not gone out, let loose, party hard, BUT I have gotten plenty of softball time in..lol pfft whats new. I have such a lame personal life, I know, dont judge me. For 2 months all I can do is dream about hugging and squeezing her and attacking her with my kisses. I love her THAT much and I dont need "me" time so much as I need "us" time.

Yes, you heard correctly...IM FREEEEEE!!! The cast is off people and despite my doctor's orders to not play softball for 3 more weeks, I have played anyways and it feels GRREAT to be back on the field. Of course Im being careful and I wouldnt play if it hurt. My thumb just isnt a 100% yet because its still stiff from not being able to bend it for almost a month.

Spare me the lecture about playing ball when I shouldnt, I KNOW, trust me but I am my mothers daughter and I think Im okay.
