Every year except for her 8th birthday we celebrate with a big party. I love parties but after 9 parties, I think Im a little pooped out from parties. This year I decided to take her to Disneyland since I have never gone with her (yes she has gone but never with me, will explain shortly). I bought her and I annual passes, spent 2 very long days and nights painting her room purple until 2:00am, redecorated, rearranged, and unjunkified this same room, got her a new iPod, zebra nerdy glasses, and a whole lotta love. Yes it sounds frantic and a bit much but for my one and only child who is turning the big 10! I had too, plus it was her golden birthday! 10 years old on 7/10/2010! Who wouldnt?!?!? Sounds even crazier to know that I hustled and bustled to do all that just for the 2 days she was home and then I sent her off packing again to her dads for the rest of the summer. Of course its not my choice but there is somewhere in the law books stating that I have to share her and well, I think its POPPY COCK!! ha ha ha. She wanted to visit him anyway but she's just never been gone for THAT long and well, I have major anxiety, tend to spontaneously cry from missing her, forget I dont have to pick her up from her after school program, and constantly check her room every day. Yes, its sad but I miss her more than anything!
Okay back on topic, so we went to Disneyland and let me just give you a little background info on this whole Disneyland ordeal. I havent gone in 15 years and why is that you ask? Well since Disneyland is ultimately my most FAVORITE place to be in the whole wide world and for me not to go in that long, its a sin, a crime on humanity I say! Point being is that I became a fatty mcfat fat over the years and didnt think I could fit in the rides. So as a wee little girl, I had to send Jordyn to Disneyland with her grandma one time and the other time her dad took her. Maybe you didnt know this about me but I am soo terrified of being humiliated by not fitting in a ride that I will persistantly do research weeks prior to an amusement park outing to see if I will fit. Point blank, I read this one website that has forums where other fatty mcfat fats can write in about their experiences in various amusement parks and tell us what rides are ok and which arent. Dont you DARE laugh ass! I know you are just giggling inside that I do that but I will kick you with one of my kankles so help me!! After reading for what seemed forever I decided that maybe I can fit in most of the rides. FYI - we went to Knotts Berry Farm last year and I knew I wasnt gonna fit on much but I went anyway for Jo (which I should've done earlier one...dummy) and was only able to go on like 2 maybe 3 rides which is okay cuz I had fun watching her have fun. Yes, I was the one sitting outside the gates of the rides waving aimlessly and smiling wishing it was me...lol. I decided...Disneyland...HERE I COME! I better fit anyway on these damn rides cuz I bought an annual pass for me too! lol
Got to Disneyland and our first ride was Indiana Jones and I remember it from 15 years ago and I was very hesitant so Kathy (the bff) and my mom developed a system to ask one of the workers who stands out at the start of each line all the details about the seating and if there is a turnstile. Yeah the highlight of my day is asking a total stranger to look at me and give me their opinion if they think Im too fat to ride the ride. YAY ME! Turned out okay because if you work at Disney, apparently you are trained to care and not be mean...therefore...I LOVE DISNEY EVEN MORE! Wasnt embarassed at all because I fit on EVERYTHING!! Yes you heard me, I fit on EVERYTHING!!! HOLLLERRR!!! Okay they took out a lot of turnstiles that would have otherwise been devastating for me and widened the rest of the turnstiles at the park. Some of the turnstiles I didnt even have to turn sideways or stand on my tippy toes to scoot through. I hand it to me "thinking skinny" the whole time and yes, if you think skinny, you automatically are! ha ha ha. The only ride that made me feel extra heffalumpish was Autopia just because those damn cars are soo low to the grown and the steering wheel is right above my thunder thighs it was a mission to get up. I dont think I'd fit on Space Mountain though..Ive read on the forums that its kinda iffy for us "healthy" people. We'll see.
We stayed until it closed, I felt like a kid again who wanted to go on EVERY single ride and go into EVERY single store and see EVERY single show and spend EVERY single penny. Jordyn had the best time ever and seeing that smile on her face and having so much fun with her made my life...seriously! I will attach a few pics below, you'll have to check out my Facebook for the rest. There is one thing though that I realized from this weekend....I have the most GINORMOUS face/head in the world. OMG why is it that when I take pictures with everyone (aside from Bruce cuz he has major domage too) that I look like I have Elephantitis!?!?!?!? WTF man!
Me and my angel face in her AWESOME painted new room before heading out to Disneyland...see her bedding..totally matches...I should get paid for this!
Am I the only one that thinks we look odd? I mean GIGANTORS on the left and smurfs on the right? Im hitting the gym as of yesterday! ha ha
Damn all grown up huh? BTW those arent prescription, she loves the nerdy glasses look and I think she rocks it pretty darn well!
Now that my face took up half the shot, here is a pic of the 3 of us! Did I mention it was Bruce's 1st TIME EVER at Disneyland...he even wore a pin on his shirt telling everyone!! what a trooper!
Yup, annual passes baby with super cool lanyards and pins!!
In line with mi madre for Alice in Wonderland...hells yes!
Dont be jealous of my biceps, I know you are! This is us in front of Thunder Mountain.
Yup, we're pretty much a big deal
First ride of the day, Indiana Jones
